War in Nagorno Karabakh – inside look (4 PHOTOS)
War in Nagorno Karabakh between Azerbaijan and Armenia has taken many lives from both sides. While there is an active ceasefire agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, there are still people dying on the frontlines.
Here are a couple of scanned photos, shot during the days of war in Nagorno Karabakh, from the Armenian side.
Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan in 1988, after which a conflict has begun. Currently, 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territory is occupied by Armenian Armed forces (Nagorno Karabakh plus 7 surrounding regions).
Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994, and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the U.S. have been holding peace talks ever since. Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council’s four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
